Tandikan Ville, a project of the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) under President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.’s Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) Program, is set to rise in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

SHFC President and CEO Federico Laxa and Puerto Princesa City Mayor Lucilo Bayron spearheaded the groundbreaking ceremony at the site in Barangay Irawan on February 16. Tandikan Ville will be constructed by AVECS Corporation. The shelter initiative, implemented under the guidance of Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar, is poised to benefit a total of 5,640 families.

“This groundbreaking signals the beginning of the realization of dreams of Palaweños to have their own homes,” Laxa said. “These dreams embody stability, security, and a brighter future for yourselves and your loved ones.”

Tandikan Ville is envisioned to consist of 47 five-story buildings, offering a range of amenities tailored to the needs of its future residents. These include concrete roads, a central swimming pool, a school building, and a department store area.

The beneficiaries of this first-ever 4PH project in Palawan include families residing in coastal areas within the city, as well as employees from the public and private sectors. Families displaced by the recent devastating fire in Bagong Silang and Pagkakaisa villages will also be allotted units in the housing project.

Bayron acknowledged the significant challenge of relocating these families, underscoring the need for substantial budgetary support beyond the means of the city government. “We expressed our gratitude to SHFC for providing funding for the full development of this life-saving project,” he said.

Representing DHSUD Sec. Jose Rizalino Acuzar, MIMAROPA Public Housing and Settlements Division OIC Louis Frederic Alconcel was present at the event. SHFC Executive Vice President Atty. Junefe Payot, SHFC Northwestern Mindanao and VisMin 4PH Vice President Engr. Felman Gilbang, SHFC Palawan Manager Jess Cidro, and Pag-Ibig Fund Palawan Manager Emely Platero also graced the occasion.

To date, the construction of SHFC’s three ongoing 4PH projects—Crystal Peak Estates in San Fernando City, Pampanga; People’s Ville in Davao City; and Valley View Township in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, is in full swing. Additionally, there are over 100 projects in the 4PH pipeline, which is projected to yield more than 414,000 units.
